Sample CDA interview questions:

The following are 7 sample CDA interview questions designed to help you get started practicing for your interview. Normally, you would have 5 minutes to answer each question as the entire interview process will last approximately 30 to 35 minutes. Note: CDA interview questions are not limited to dentistry related topics and can be from any real life situation.

CDA interview question #1:

You are a dental student and have a major exam today. Your roommate, who is also a very close friend, contacts you in a state of panic asking if you would be able to drive her and her sick dog to the vet. Her dog is not doing well and your friend is hysterical. Your exam starts in less than 30 minutes. The veterinary’s office is 45 minutes away by car. What will you do in this situation?

Tell us about a time when you came into conflict with a superior. How did you resolve this conflict? What did you learn that would help you in similar future events?

CDA interview question #3:

You are the director of a financially struggling hospital. You have been unable to generate enough revenues to implement some very important initiatives at the hospital and are at risk of inevitable service cuts, if more funding is not secured immediately. The only secure source of funds that is being offered is by a cigarette company. They are willing to provide your hospital with all the resources required in exchange for advertisement at your facility. What will you and should you do as the hospital director?

CDA interview question #4:

You are babysitting your neighbour’s 4-year-old child. During dinnertime, as you are feeding the child, he turns and bites you extremely hard on your hand. How will you react in this situation?

Tell us about a time when you acted unprofessionally? What have you learned from that experience?

You are the father of a 12-year-old boy. Your son’s friend, who is also your neighbuor, is playing with your son in the backyard. As you approach them to ask them about lunch, you notice some severe bruises on the friend’s arm and upper neck. You are worried about these obvious signs and decide to approach your neighbour (the young boy’s father). How would you approach this situation? What would you say to the father of the young boy? What are some potential concerns that you may have?

CDA interview question #7:

A patient of yours consistently complains about the amount they have to pay for your services. On this day, after seeing their young daughter and sending her home with the bill, she returns with her father who is extremely angry and begins shouting in the waiting room in front of other patients. How will deal with this situation?
